The thought the movie was going to be same lame melodrama...but it turned out to be an awesome melodrama! I love Jane Fonda so much, she gets prettier in the feminist could maybe be a lesbian kind of way.
Voight deserved the Oscar he got for the film. I thought it was better than "The Deer Hunter" which won best picture that year. I think I enjoy films about war that are actually not on the battlefield more.
First Hal Ashby film but I am looking forward to seeing more.
