Review of Coming Home (1978) by Paul P — 11 Nov 2009
For the most part, the is came across as just another affair/ love story. Only this one had the Vietnam war as it's background. As such, it's not particularly interesting - Voight & Fonda give ordinary performances, not sure why they won Oscars.
It's only in the last half hour when Bruce Dern's character returns from the fighting, that it picks up a bit. Even then, though it never really follows through on it's potential.
A disappointment.
