I canâ(TM)t exactly analyze why, but for some reason âL'ivresse du pouvoirâ? doesnâ(TM)t reach me at all. Itâ(TM)s got a wonderful cast with ever magnificent Isabelle Huppert leading, director Claude Chabrol constructing subtle scenes with restrained but telling dialogue, but for some reason the whole doesnâ(TM)t work at all.
Itâ(TM)s all very slow paced and forgettable, even as the themes are current and potentially provocative.
