Review of Comedian (2002) by Alex G — 22 Mar 2006
...with a little bit of probably my favorite comedian.
Finished watching Comedian yesterday, a documentary that follows Seinfeld as he tries to make a new act(ill explain later) and another guy who is trying to break it in the bussiness.
Anyway what I learned in the movie is its a lot of hard work to become a comedian. What I really didn't know is that its not really "improv". It takes comedians months of constant practice just to come up with a solid 30-50 minute act.
That only adds signifigance when Seinfeld retired ALL his material after his famous self-titled show. He had to start with nothing, 0 minutes, and it was a funny thing to watch.
Anyway Seinfeild still is really funny and I'm not the only one who thinks so. He makes millions a year off his syndicated show which makes more money now (as repeats) than most new tv shows.
He doesnt resort to the racist, obscene, or sexist jokes. He notices things that are funny and points them out. Thats his beauty, his ability to make everyone else realize how twisted the oddest things are in life. And with that I recommend you should watch one of his repeats(that are on daily).
If he doesn't make you laugh, well your in trouble.(God is watching).
