Review of Come Back, Little Sheba (1953) by Jeff B — 21 Sep 2008
Moving film starring Shirley Booth her in Oscar winning role as the wife of a recovering alcoholic, played by Burt Lancaster. The couple rent out a room to college student Terry Moore, and she becomes a daughter to them.
Booth and Lancaster are perfect together, and the last half hour of the film is extremely well acted and executed. A worthy win for Booth, even if she did at times remind of the old lady in Ace Ventura Pet Detective ("Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell, would like a cookie?").
