Review of Come And Get It (1991) by Ralph R — 13 Mar 2008
How many fat leading men have there been? Few, few. Edward Arnold brings an intensity and strange balleticism to his work here. Frances Farmer is, as always, wonderful. This could have been a masterful film, but it suffers from the split-vision of Hawks and Wyler.
The latter must be responsible for the attempt at scope and Meaning, the former for the good stuff.
