Pensively internal, meticulously (and gorgeously) photographed, and movingly quiet, Columbus is a thematic descendant of the sublime Lost in Translation and a technical disciple of the studious works of the great Ozu ? and may be but a trim of 10 minutes from entering the realm of greatness in which the aforementioned reside.
