Review of Columbus (2017) by Tor M — 02 Jan 2018
Kogonada's debut is a pretty, slow film that demands a fair deal from the viewer. Architecture, is a keyword, as two people with real life problems meet up. Both is sort of sharing interest in buildings and we see a lot of them - all in Colombus. She is having a mom that's a recovering addict. She is smart and people keeps telling her to do more with her life. He is there to be around his father that's in a coma.
Very gentle and silent film that looks swell. The acting is great and the leads conversations is something to observe and digest. It lacks a bit of punch for me, but in total an all right film.
6 out of 10 buldings.
