Well, that went in a wholly dark and adult direction I wasn't expecting. I'm not sure if it entirely worked but kudos to writer/director Nacho Vigalondo and all those involved for crafting a kaiju movie that steps outside the box to tackle some seriously heavyweight human storytelling.
