Review of Color of the Cross (2006) by Private U — 07 Mar 2008
I would give this movie 5 stars if it had better production value and acting. An extremely interesting re-interpretation of the end of Jesus' life, bringing up great new possibilities in his relationships with his family, disciples, and the religious leaders of the time.
The events of the movie are all accurate to the Biblical text, but the words being said by and about a black Jesus can completely change their implications (same goes for the events themselves). Really interesting and definitely worth a watch for Christians or those interested in dealing with racism or new interpretations of religion at all.
