Review of Collateral Beauty (2016) by Katrina F — 22 Dec 2016
I lost a child this year so this was a very tough movie to watch. Everything he went through, thought about, and dealt with is what I have experienced in the last few months. The movie is real, raw, slightly predictable but relatable. I appreciate that it didn't take a turn into the trite religious "platitudes" where most movies about grief and loss venture. It gave me hope that one day I'll be ok..maybe not tomorrow or in a year or two but one day. One day I'll find the collateral beauty through the profound damage.
If you've lost a child or even a loved one, this movie is for you.
