Review of Collateral (2004) by Jacob N — 05 Mar 2014
Max (Jamie Foxx) is a cab driver with big dreams of owning his own Limo Company. One night he picks up Vincent, (Tom Cruise) who offers him 600 bucks to take him on 5 stops. Little does Max know that Vincent is alot more than he appears to be... A contract killer using him as a getaway ride.

Very good movie. In a lot of ways it's my favorite Michael Mann flick. I have to say that Cruise might have given his best performance in here. It's up there near the top at the very least. Being that he's not a big guy, he would to give this type of performance to make up believe as a hitman. Not that hitman are only tall... But if somebody would have told me that Cruise would be successful in a role like this I would have said they're crazy.
That said, the movie gets very conventional in the last 20 minutes or so. I was disappointed that it fell into the trappings of a predictable thriller. For that, I just can't call it a real classic.
