Review of Colette (2018) by Brent_Marchant — 27 Sep 2018
Not even Keira Knightley's fine performance and excellent period piece production values can save this cartoonish biopic, which plays more like a film adaptation of a tawdry pulp novel than a serious historic saga.
This, combined with the characters' monodimensionality and virtually nonexistent back story, expose a half-baked screenplay in need of major retooling. A genuine disappointment.
