Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Jeff T — 17 Aug 2009
This Charlie Kaufman/Michel Gondry wannabe comes closer than I expected. There's a truly wonderful central performance from Giamatti driving it all the way through (even through the slightly snoozy third-act trip to snowy Russia) and a mournful underbelly that keeps it thoughtful and uncomfortable.
Very art house-y but fairly worthwhile.
