Extracting 95% of your soul to lift that unbearable weight of life, leaving behind only 5% to maintain the basic functions sounds like a good enough deal - it's kind of like breathing the hollow when you're sick on meds, would life be whole lot more easier or would it be like even more unbearably empty tho?!
Some compare it to Charlie Kaufman, there surely are some similarities yet this one has much less depth - but then it's fairly easy to digest and pretty straight forward. All in all it's not too bad a movie, am glad to see Claire from Six Feet Under becoming so much more pretty now :).
