Review of Cold Souls (2009) by John L — 15 Feb 2010
In this movie, Paul Giamatti has given the greatest performance of his career. He surely was great in other movies, like American Splendor, but nothing matches this. Just fantastic.
As for the movie, it was unexpectedly funny and wry, with a brilliantly original and yet scary concept. Even if it's impossible for this script to be regenerated in real life, you actually believe that here's this guy chasing his soul across the globe.
I'm quite happy I saw this. It was lacking something and it needed more, but overall, a great and quite enjoyable film - very soul-stirring.
