Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Brad G — 24 Mar 2010
The writer of Being John Malkovich mines similar territory with this film: Paul Giamatti (playing himself) decides to extract his soul after a few lackluster play rehearsals. This propels him down a surreal path into pseudoscience/philosophy and the Russian underworld.
I love Giamatti; Iâ??ll watch him in anything...still, no new ground here and I kinda wish Charlie Kauffman would writte a straight storyâ??color me curious. VF.
