Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Joseph C — 04 Apr 2010
Conceptually great, incredible actors, but it just didn't know where to go. Sophie Barthes debut film is incredibly promising, and the trailer was awesome, but it couldn't come near what it could've been. And the ending? C'mon, that's all? It's still worth a look, but you'll want a little more of this (soul), and a little less of that (the coldness)...
Paul Giamatti is an actor who has a heavy burden within him, and decides to get his soul removed and placed into safekeeping. But when he decides to get it put back in, it's stolen and taken to Russia, and placed into a soap opera actress who wants an American actor's soul. How's that for conceptual?
