Even though the story and concept in itself are really complex and might not make sense with some people's beliefs (can you really live without a soul?), I still managed to watch the whole movie, hoping that Paul Giamatti would find himself in his quest to get rid and then to find back his soul.
Not sure if it should be taken seriously at first (the whole soul business seems to be a joke that naive people just fall into), the movie raises a few questions about who we are and what makes who we are. However, if you are not a fan of these types of physchological stories, stay away and you won't miss much.
