Cold Souls has a clever premise - that we can extract and swap souls - but doesn't run with it so much as waddle slowly with it. Paul Giamatti's always fun, and he gets some good laughs, but the movie doesn't have the warped energy of Being John Malkovich or Eternal Sunshine (two much better movies it resembles).
