Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Nick O — 12 Apr 2010
As I was about to watch it, I had no expectations whatsoever. Paul Giamatti is a good actor but he's not Clooney and the rest of the crew is pretty unknown, at least to me, so... gotta admit, didn't think I'd love it.
BUT. For a debut film (and even for not) it's pretty damn good. First, the writing, I mean yeah it feels a little bit like "Being John Malkovich", but only a little. Surprisingly unique and interesting idea, not to heavy, actually a bit funny here and there. Great actors, beautifully shot.
I was kinda upset about the ending, it just felt incomplete, unresolved. But maybe that's just me.
