Review of Cold Pursuit (2019) by Stefann — 21 Apr 2016
This movie is pure fun. A Crank-esque action film, all experienced from a first person perspective. With a main character that doesn't speak, its because of that fact that you can easily put yourself in the shoes of Henry. Just like a video game it immerses you on a whole new level. The story is decent. The bad guy seems genuinely evil, and the action was gratuitous and plentiful. A fan of horror movie gore would feel like they got their money's worth with this film. The twist at the end (because there always has to be a twist) was meh. Not bad, not good, but meh.
I am a film maker and half the time they had me wondering how they did some of the stunts. Very cool, very fast, and very violent. Each scene was well put together and I am surprised at how little holes their were. The editor must have had their hands full due to the shaky cam, and the hundreds of extras that seemed to have a purpose in every shot. Even so, this movie is solid.
Cool parkour, guns, humour, and more guns, this movie is best debuted in the man cave.
DISCLAIMER: If you get motion sickness easily, be sure to take some Dramamine before hand. Also, if you have a large TV, make sure you have decent light in the room.
