Review of Cold Mountain (2003) by Eva G — 14 Dec 2008
Cold Mountain takes a while to warm up, but slowly starts to grip you once Jude Law's character starts his long trek back from the Civil War to reunite with his true love. The film is not without flaws - there are some enjoyably dodgy Southern accents on display by the overly British cast and Nicole Kidman appears to retain a make-up artist, hair stylist and wardrobe team at her disposal despite supposedly being poverty stricken.
A good film, but no masterpiece.
