Beautifully crafted, contemplative war drama romance, subtle, understated warmth and sweeping, gorgeous cinematography. Nicole Kidman and Jude Law play unusually internalized leads, though the many colorful, feisty cameos from Philip Seymour Hoffman to Natalie Portman and Renée Zellweger are really the lifeblood.
