Beautiful, sweeping epic, totally underrated. Sumptuous scenery, cinematography, costume and set design and music. Also features one of the most impressive ensemble casts ever assembled: Jude Law, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Eileen Atkins, Ray Winstone, Brendan Gleeson, and the list goes on.
But the film is really carried by Nicole Kidman, gorgeous as ever, who delivers a fantastic performance of expert subtlety and nuance.
