Review of Cold Creek Manor (2003) by Jennifer E — 06 May 2004
Cold Creek Manor is an overly long, boring thriller that is an insult to good thrillers. There is hardly any suspense in this movie about who the bad guy is and why. The plot is way to thin to justify two hours and the film is filled with thriller cliches to the point that it could almost be considered parody.
One of my favorite thriller cliches concerns animals. If a thriller involves a family and that family has a pet (be it a dog, cat, rabbit or, in this case a pony), that animal is toast. Take it to the bank.
In addition to everything else, it was sad to see Sharon Stone, who normally takes on roles involving strong women, playing a character so weak. Its just not her and not something a hope to see again.
