Review of Cold Comes the Night (2013) by Corry P — 19 Oct 2013
Tze Chun follows the money in Cold Comes the Night. This 90 minute crime drama flows at a slower, yet steady pace to reach its conclusion. The plot details reveal enough, but at the same time leaves a sense of mystery, and this is where this picture thrives, all the while leaving things to the imagination.
Far from an action movie, it does have its share of violence. It wouldn't be a crime drama without it; however, the R-rated material is equally due to the language as it is the blood content.Alice Eve and Bryan Cranston put up some "cold" performances, which is what this film is going for.
The latter is great to watch with his Polish accent. Logan Marshall-Green provides the more livelier of performances that works well in contrast to the two leads.Cold Comes the Night isn't perfect, but in the end it is a recommendable crime drama.
