No its not a comedy, though there were a few moments that were hilarious. And maybe its not like the short-story, but when is a movie exactly like the written work on which it is based?. And yes the ending was abrupt, because sometimes its not about the destination but the journey.
There was some drifting but I felt this added to the feel of the movie. So my review is I liked this movie.
