Review of Coffee and Cigarettes (2004) by Paul P — 22 Oct 2008
For an atrsy-fartsy movie (such as focusing the camera directly over the coffee & cigs and having the ashtray 3/4 in the shot), there were some pretty good conversations going on (there were also some fucking boring-ass conversations as well - the 2 Jamaicans). The 2 old Italian guys had the best scene - especially with the one guy's son who's too lazy to talk.
The other scenes that were memorable were Iggy Pop and Tom Waits (many uncomfortable silences) and Alfred Molina and some English dude where the situation chenges unexpectedly had me laughing. If you're a fan of Cate Blanchett, she does a scene with herself as another character.
