Review of Coffee and Cigarettes (2004) by Annie B — 24 Jul 2009
An example of a movie where the big name of a director makes celebrities go nuts for no reason. Sure it's nice to watch Bill Murray's subtle style of acting or to watch Cate Blanchett show off her perfect command of different accents, even the coffee & cigarettes theme was kind of original, but most of the stories were rather lame.
And when you shoot a dialogue-based movie, you better make sure these conversations are damn exciting - Jarmusch however, well, I don't know what he thought, but he certainly did not intend to amaze anyone.
Too bad.
