The speculative social fiction concepts have been done before, so there's not much to provoke any new thinking, and the romance is pretty dry and unbelievable so that part of the story isn't worth it either.
The basic choices and consequences aspect is interesting, but just doesn't pan out in a way to make me care about much more than how long it is until the movie ends.
