I understand that there are a couple adult situations in this movie but at the same time this movie is a (fable) thinking movie for the mature yound and older of course. I was about 12/13 years old in the 80's when I first saw these movies and I didn't get any wrong ideas at all.

It's up to the parents to make sure that the children understand what's going on and that there is a difference between fiction and reality. I also think you got the wrong idea that this movie is about more than just skin deep.

The love that Kitty and Jack were sharing in the movie was deeper than sex. Also it wasn't about stripping..it's about finding out who a person is on the inside not on the out skin..basically don't judge a book by it's cover.

Sure Cocoon and Cocoon: The Return were in the 80's and was a little cheesy but I found that films like these and E.T. were better written than many films on the big screen today. The 80's was the start of the pop culture and helped me define who I am today.

I get very emotional and relive my youth everytime I see movies like these. The biggest reason I love these films is the music. Not the cheesy pop song (although I don't personally have a problem with it) but the nice soft and emotional theme by James Horner.

James Horner ended up being one of my all time favorite composers with John Williams and his score for this film also helped me grow up and really put my life in perspective. To me it is a timeless film and the special effects were made in the 80's but it is ILM and still better than a lot of other films in the 80's and 90's combined.
