Review of Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (2009) by Olga N — 20 Sep 2010
The first ten minutes showing a new Stravinsky scored ballet getting booed in a Paris concert hall, attended by Chanel, set this film up to be an interesting exploration of a tempestuous relationship between 2 great artists from the early 20th Century.
What follows is a turgid, emotionless couple of hours which I will now never get back. The acting is as wooden as the cast of the Woodentops when they were wooden and the story line is totally without point.
The film is a series of scenes stitched together with little semblance of continuity through which the characters plod eliciting little sympathy. Frankly, I didn't care......
