Review of Coco Before Chanel (2009) by Sapphire G — 01 Mar 2010
It was pleasant to the eye at times. Audrey Tautou is always interesting to watch, but not even she could save this from being (or feeling) incredibly long and dull. Is there going to be any 'Coco après Chanel'? I bet that could be so much more engaging.
The film's last scene is a painfully brief sequence of Coco (obviously now a celebrated designer) gracefully seated on the stairs of some fashion house, watching a line-up of models exhibiting her designs.
After feeling numb and just... plain bored during so much time I felt awakened by that scene, and wishing for more. But then the end credits rolled up.
