Review of Coco (2017) by David O — 14 Mar 2018
While the film begins as standard animated fare, it blossoms much like the great works of Ghibli and Disney into a glorious celebration of all things south american and fantastical. The characters are not ground breaking but their place in the world Unkrich and Molina create are fantastic, filled with emotion and a riveting story, Coco will have you laughing, crying and tapping your feet to this fresh but familiar animation.
