Review of Coco (2017) by Late R — 17 Mar 2018
Well, Pixar have done it again. Colourful, vibrant and gorgeous animation combined with a touching story (although rather predictable and perhaps a little saccharine, at times) makes this another wonderful edition to the Studio's catalogue of ever-growing hits.
It not only handles big topics such as life and death with sensitivity and care, getting its message across in a family-friendly way, but manages to do it whilst also being an entertaining, emotional and culturally sensitive love letter to Mexico and its traditions.
It isn't Pixar's best work, but it's pretty great, nonetheless.
