Review of Coco (2017) by J R — 23 May 2018

Coco is a very family friendly movie with nice animations and a beautiful story. It incorporates Mexican culture and traditions in such a creative way. The movie is about the main protagonist, Miguel, and his long journey to reach his lifelong dream of playing music.

With one goal in mind he goes out of his way to accomplish it. Even defying his family's rules and traditions. When he discovers that a music festival is coming up he decides that it is finally his time to seize his moment.

But by revealing to his family his musical talent Miguel's plans are ruined. Even so he pushes himself to attend the festival determined to play for the world. Without an instrument to play Miguel chooses to use his favorite musicians guitar without knowing of the risk it comes with.

He is then soon taken into the land of the dead where he meets many of his family members. With no support for his dream by his living and dead family he goes in search for someone who will help him. Without knowing that the person he thinks can help him is actually going to harm him.

With a very shocking plot twist and sad, loving moments Coco excelled many expectations. It is a very recommendable movie and great to watch!
