Review of Coco (2017) by Lewiswake — 05 Feb 2018
Coco is a film that never fails to entertain throughout it's entire duration. Each scene presents fun and engaging moments that constantly expand on the story, characters, and setting.
Pixar has gone through a recent trend of sequels and their new IP's haven't stood out as much, but Coco breaks this stigma and shows that the studio has plenty of stories left to tell. As with every recent Pixar film it has a huge heart. This time around the importance of family is the primary theme and it explores this through a premise that is rarely explored in film: life beyond death.
Coco is vividly colourful, deeply emotional, and is an excellent portrayal of Mexican culture.
