Review of Coco (2017) by Maggie D — 06 Jan 2018
A sweet story, if somewhat predictable. I found that I would have liked to see Miguel's interact more with his known family (Imelda, hus aunts and uncles, his living family, ect.) more before he split up from them to go look for Ernesto de la Cruz, but I did enjoy the interactions he did have with them.
I think my favorite moment in the entire movie was at the end, when he was with Mama Coco, and I wish his first interaction with her had been more like that. But the visuals were stunning, and while I initially thought the skull designs were odd, they worked perfectly fine.
Overall a good movie, and one that children will certainly enjoy.
