I hope the subtle metaphor of immigration is not lost. Mexicans are usually tightly woven with their families, and often, separated, sometimes for the rest of their lives. This is a huge sacrifice in pursuit of the American dream.
Sometimes, that dream is only to be able to feed your family. So in order to save your family you have to renounce to it. Nobody ever said life had easy choices.
