Review of Cocaine Cowboys (2006) by Jeffrey L — 02 Nov 2008
This fast-paced psychedelic documentary is about the rise of the cocaine business in Miami back in the 70's, and the Godmother of it all, told by one ex-drug dealer, one ex-drug runner, and one ex-hitman, as well as countless police officers and detectives.
Very informitave and eye-opening, with music done by the guy who made the music for the original Miami Vice tv show. I don't know if you could find a more entertaining documentary out there, as by the time the movie ended, I was so surprised it had already been 2 hours. Also, I really liked the text at the end that described where all these people were today and what's happened to them since the end of the documentary. The fact that someone like the Godmother could actually be released from jail to be free, is appalling.
