Review of Cocaine Cowboys (2006) by Dave S — 28 Jan 2014
This documentary captures how Miami was built. The Ochoa family was to Miami what Bugsy Siegel was to Las Vegas. This was told from the perspective of only 3 main criminals in the 70's/80's drug trade and a handful of reporters and law enforcement officials, and yet everything flowed and had a linear aspect that made it feel like a real life version of Goodfellas.
Really enjoyed it and made me remember an era in Miami that most like to forget.
