Review of Cocaine Cowboys 2 (2008) by Chris W — 13 Nov 2008
Where the original Cocaine Cowboys did an excellent job at covering the rise of cocaine in America and specifically Miami in the 1980's, the sequel attempts to shed more light on the infamous Griselda Blanco, the "Godmother," and one Charles Cosby, an Oakland, CA born drug dealer who becomes a lover and partner to Blanco.
The problem with this story is there isn't really anything fascinating about it, other than the fact that Cosby escaped the cocaine industry relatively unharmed although threats are looming every day for him now.
It's just a poor attempt to cash in on what was a successful doctumentary and try to scale it down to a more personal level.
