Review of Cobra (1986) by Dave J — 25 Sep 2013

(1986) Cobra.
ACTION.
Second film director George P. Cosmatos worked with Stallone after doing "Rambo: First Blood Part II" which is nothing but a rehash of better action movies such as "Dirty Harry" and "Above The Law". Nonsensical set up has Stallone nicknamed "the Cobra" feeling obligated to protect a potential witness, Ingrid (Brigitte Nielsen) against a criminal organisation who want her dead. and of course Cobra's own police department don't believe him that some hired goons are trying to eliminate her forcing him to protect her himself.
I tried watching this a second time so that I can submit a review but the thing is that it's just another one of those action movies that had made an impact upon a first viewing but it's very standard stuff aside from a few good action scenes without any help from CGI, it deserves a pass but not a second viewing.
2.5 out of 4 stars.
