Review of Cluny Brown (1946) by Warren S — 26 Dec 2008
A delightful little comedy about a romance between an unlikely couple. Cluny is a plumber's niece who becomes a maid in pre WW2 England. (Jennifer Jones) Boyer is a foreign writer who appears to be hiding from Hitler, and he strikes up a friendship with Jones.
Most of the humor is about the stuffy manors of the upper class British and how it relates to the working class and what it means to know your place.
