Review of Clueless (1995) by Meredith W — 08 Dec 2012
This clever, modern (loose) retelling of Jane Austen's novel "Emma" is hip and smart. I like that it doesn't have gross-out humour and doesn't need to rely on slapstick comedy. Rather, it is witty in its use of now classic lines and the way in which it satires superficial teen culture.
A big movie with a big heart that is fun and engaging if not taken too seriously.
