Review of Clue (1985) by Robert F — 25 Jun 2009
This is quite possibly my favorite movie of all time, and it's definitely my favorite comedy of all time. The plot is great, the jokes are hilarious, the action is fast paced, and its transition from a whimsical mystery to a zany madcap comedy is done so slowly and skillfully, that you won't even remember the change happening.
All this is enough to make it a very good movie, what makes the film truly great is the casting. Martin Mull, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Eileen Brennan, Michael McKean, and more, there were no slouches in this cast. Every actor was fantastic, and had great chemistry with everyone else, leading to a comedy/mystery that's simultaneously serious and ridiculous, a combination that few movies have combined successfully., and none did it better than this one.
