Review of Clue (1985) by Jesse O — 04 Nov 2012

I'd say this was a fun movie with a cast of very talented and funny people. Somehow, though, it never really took that step to being great. Perhaps it's just me, but I found the movie to be just good.

It was on the verge of being a very good film, but it never got there. Not that I didn't enjoy it, because I did. As mentioned, the cast is really very good and they're practically the reason the film is good in the first place.

I can't imagine how this movie would've been had shitty actors been cast instead. So as you can see the script isn't much, as it is the cast that makes the film work. Actually there are some witty moments here and there but for the most part, the writing doesn't match the high quality of the actors.

It's still a very fun movie to watch and these complaints are mostly nitpicks as I still had a lot of fun watching despite its flaws. The movie is designed to be fun and silly, and it fulfills its purposes so I can't really complain too much.
