Review of Club Dread (2004) by Michael M — 25 Apr 2010
Barbershop 2 - ok movie, not as funny as the first.
ID4 - liked it more now than my first theatrical viewing. I just can't help but notice how similiar The Day After Tomorrow is to it. Anyway, this Limited Edition DVD sucks. There's a sticker on the cover promoting an Inside Look at The Day After Tomorrow. The running time is less than the length of the teaser trailer. There's also 9 additional, but unnoticable, minutes of footage not seen in the theatrical release. You do get two commentary tracks by the director, producer, and effects guys which I liked. Still, a very underwelming and unnecessary DVD release.
Club Dread - Some of the lines are actually pretty funny, but I guess the deliveries aren't that great. Yeah, there are some hot chicks, a couple breast shots, and some gore, but it's still rather tame for an R-rated film. It also has that make-it-up-as-you-go feel to it. It just seems like a bunch of guys found a camera, got some beer, and made a movie before they passed out.
We got these movies for free at RT, so might as well not waste them.
