Review of Clown (2014) by Heather M — 04 Jul 2016
The second release from director Jon Watts is a horror flick that gives the story of a man who finds demonic clown suit that takes over his body and makes him go on a bloody rampage throughout his town on unsuspecting children. The movie takes what could be a silly D movie straight to DVD garbage bin that you watch on a Saturday morning at 3 am and turns into this horrific well paced, methodically filmed, and terrifyingly plotted story into one of this year's best horror movies from one of the most intriguing new directors.
Jon Watts is able to make a man that is unwillingly transformed into a cannibalistic terror. Jon Watts has a unique style that started with Cop Car and only continues here proving that he is able to master different genres and tones and get amazing work out of small kids.
If you have a fear of clowns this movie will most certainly keep you wide awake at night and will alter the way you sympathize with a villain.
Easily one of the most original and terrifying movies of the year.
